Web 3.0, RDF, and the Semantic Web

RDF is a W3C standard for modeling and sharing distributed knowledge based on a decentralized open-world assumption. Any knowledge about anything can be decomposed into triples (3-tuples) consisting of subject, predicate, and object; essentially, RDF is the lowest common denominator for exchanging data between systems.

Social Networking for Business

"The growing number of companies offering private-label social network solutions, as well as IBM's recent entry into the field with its Lotus Connections social software platform for business, is a sure sign of increased demand. Other companies, like LinkedIn and Ryze, have social networking at the core of product offerings that generate revenue by bringing offline business networking practices into the online world. And corporations are continuing to incorporate advertising on affinity networks in their campaigns to reach highly targeted audiences with measurable response rates.

You can't manage knowledge?

Knowledge Management by Euan Semple from his blog The Obvious sez, "You can increase the likelihood of connections, you can increase the chances that such connections will result in one person helping another and you can help create a culture in which helping each other is a good thing but you sure as hell can't manage knowledge." Bang! Euan shoud know since he walks the talk at the BBC.

The Bigger Picture for Enterprise Blogs

All this noise about blogging in PR/marketing is missing the bigger picture - blogging internally. Our grandparents had Laurel and Hardy, Gapingvoid, Hugh - "Blog bashing doesn't phase me too much- I actually find it rather entertaining. What can I say? It's rather fun watching people being wrong, again and again, for the same "I have a dumb ass suit & tie job in a big company ergo I must be terribly important" reasons."

Knowledge Management, Blogs, and Del.icio.us

Portals, knowledge management, content management, idea management, enterprise blogging, bookmarks, tagging, del.icio.us, yak, yak, yak. Anyway, I found a blog site, "Portals and KM" that has a list of knowledge management sites if anyone is interested. Bill Ives, the owner of the site is also publishing a book "Business Blogs: A Practical Guide"  that can be ordered via email - no e-comm. I have not read the book.
