"Enterprise 2.0: The Dawn of Emergent Collaboration"

Interesting piece from MIT Sloan about enterprise social networking software. I suppose the uptick or rate of adoption for businesses will accelerate in 2006 and 2007. LOL We've been spouting off about corporate social software, web 2.0 stuff for over three years to businesses that remain clueless. Of course, it's great to see Mr. McAfee introduce and explain Enterprise 2.0 (social-software, web-2.0) concepts in terms, hopefully, managers will GET.

P&G Connect and Develop Innovation Model

business development ideasThe connect and develop innovation model is one we whole-heartedly embrace since it blends ideas from inside and outside of the organization. We call them mashups. We've been helping business managers and team members establish those models for the last four years using what we learned working with open source software communities and using website services..

How Online Social Networks Benefit Organizations

For any employee, manager, founder, et al, I strongly suggest that you read what Ms. Kimball and Mr. Rheingold have to say about social networks and try to figure out (call us) how to get started using one in your orgainzation. I think it is great that Mr. Rheingold back in 2000 was championing social networks in organizations. The funny thing is, it took a bunch of kids on myspace to bust social networks wide open. From what I can remember, the same scenario played out with the adoption of instant messaging.

Blue Ocean Strategy

Funny! I received an email from a prospect, he runs business development for a US Corp., that suggested my site looks like a big blue ocean and was wondering if we had any connection to the authors of "Blue Ocean Strategy". My answer is no we don't.

Lost Talent!

A Company Is Known By The People It Keeps, businesspundit - "Knowledge work should not be modeled after manufacturing work. Too many managers still don't get that." With social media technologies making it easier for anyone to publish their thoughts, ideas, etc. on the net, how long will it take before the jig is up on those companies that treat their people like shit?

Corporate Re-connect

Dan Gillmor has a short remark about Corporate Heads In the Sand based on Tom Friedman's story in the NYT, "C.E.O's MIA, "...in today's flatter world, many key U.S. companies now make most of their profits abroad and can increasingly recruit the best talent in the world today without ever hiring another American."
