What Is Real?

What Is Real? - I'm against the overhead of maintaining a persona, as an individual. - Alan Gutierrez, comments in Hugh's "Greatness" postI've noticed an interesting phenomena. When I stay on the surface and write from what writer Natalie Goldberg says is that hip,... [evelyn rodriguez]

I can identify with most of Evelyn's realness post, especially on being great vs real. Several times in business, at the expense of my family and loved ones I've sacrificed way too much to satisfy my selfishness, only to spiral further down from the truth and further from the false greatness I was after.  For me it was total despair, I was spiritually bankrupt, unable to connect or relate to people, even loved ones. I believe we do not change much unless there is a overwhelming feeling or screaming voice in our head to do so. I had a sense of  powerlessness where there was no place else to go but to simply surrender and accept the reality of my plight or die. Real to me is getting over my own pettiness and being greatful for everything in my life. Real is reaching out to others, even complete strangers for no reason but to simply give something back. Yes, karma.

Thank you for sharing Evelyn!
