I know you!

I vaguely remember a week ago reading about how attendees at reboot 2 were using irc (chat) to discuss presentations in realtime and using technorati, del.icio.us, or google to find screenames and information on the parties they were chating with. Wow, there's a blog/wiki for reboot that has it all, podcasts, irc logs, etc. Pretty cool, huh. There is so much interesting research happening that my head spins. We are connected!

Inscription: Surveillance Turned Inside Out from thefeature.com by Howard Rheingold - " Using mobile devices to snoop on ourselves could augment our memories, improve our health and better our lives, says a [Mark Smith] Microsoft researcher."

""The pervasive inscription [enrollment] revolution is only beginning," Smith proclaimed, the last time I asked him what's new. As long as I've known him, Smith has issued proclamations that start out enigmatic and sometimes become universal in a matter of months. By "inscription," Smith refers to behavior that leaves traces detectable by others. Physical behaviors that leave traces include footprints, fingerprints, DNA, being photographed or audio recorded and documents. Online behaviors that can leave traces include e-mail, links, logins and logouts, edits, purchases and downloads. Sensors that capture traces include cameras, microphones, RFID, accelerometers, motion sensors, pressure and temperature sensors and even body function monitors. Smith thinks many such sensors will either be built into phones or communicate with them."

iPods get people laid and can improve their memories, too!, Ratcliffblog. No need to elaborate. Hummm. See where I am going here? What would you share? Now these are sexy ideas!

How much can you afford in hard dollars and personal information for all this connectedness. From those cool, hip dudes on psfk, Making Life Easy is about, "...electronic manufacturers seem to forge ahead to create a myriad of devices, options and formats there are signs of a counter-revolution. Sprouting up through the cracks in our polished white devices are services designed to make life easy: little helpers to let you get on with your busy life. ...digital technology has sprouted this phenomenon of the hyper-user - people who take existing content and mash it up to create something new."

Damn, this is exciting. Here's my order: I'll take Brad Pitt's playlist, and some of Brad Miller's pheromones (from sweat samples?), and Bill Gates banking information, combined with the Wisdom of Crowds - oh, that'll be "to go", okay? Imagine the possibilities - a kid with colored markers, to create something great for yourself, your business, your loved ones, the world with all this new digital content.
