I wanna be a happy blogger

Even though we've built a business around a blogging platform - Ideascape, many of our posts reflect ideas from others that apply to making us all better bloggers. Keith Robinson from To-Done blog has a post on how to "Be A More Productive Blogger 2." Don't worry, he has the links to part one as well as a link to his other site, Successful Blog.

Here are a few quick tips:

  • Tell a story.
  • Break longer posts up into several smaller posts.
  • Lists, lists, lists. * Make good use of your drafts.
  • Quote liberally and be sure to tip.
  •  Respond to feedback on your blog.

Don’t obsess over your stats.

  • Tips on using your blog to help you be more productive:
  • Learn from blogging.
  • Use your blog to sort out problems.
  • Think of your blog as a knowledge management repository.
  • Use your blog to test ideas.

Thanks to Steve Rubel, Micropersuasion for the tip. Moving forward in the blogosphere on the enterprise level requires learning about tagging and bookmarking services. I wrote a post on One Del.icio.us Ideascape that covers del.icio.us and furl. Since then, many new ones have popped up. We are always interested to learn how we can interact with them to create a richer experience with our users to find and discover new ideas that they can apply to whatever they are trying to get done. Looking at these tips, guess I should probably start practicing what I'm preaching!
