Why I am here!

Many companies are creating Web sites with 1990s tools intended to create static pages. The superior alternative is a content-management system (CMS), which stores content in a structured database that's optimized for frequent updates.

website development using open source software and content management
I'm here because there is an abundance of quality open-source software (OSS) available (content management, social media tools and crm) that I think offers incredible advantages over other approaches. OSS is enterprise ready. It should be considered before you start any web project. We specialize in using open-source software, so we can guide you through the selection, development, and implementation of certain applications to help lower your cost$ and time to market.

Basic versions of open-source software: WordPress, Mediawiki, Drupal, Joomla, CiviCRM, and SugarCRM provide an excellent starting point for a basic web application as well as an integrated, custom web solution. They are free to download and use. Note: Extending the basic versions beyond their core functions, say, to meet requirements or specific needs can be challenging. Plus, there are many other considerations that are critically important to success that we can help you through.

Consider my proposition:

The open-source movement developed because people had an "itch to scratch". One that "off-the-shelf" software did not support or was too costly to use. In the open source community people contribute, learn and share their knowledge and experience. Keep in mind we work with open source - there are 1000's of projects available. Knowing what works, how it works, and where it works are key ingredients in our value proposition. In the OSS communities they use an open innovation model. One where collaboration, diversity, and connecting are paramount to success. We learn from them as well as from other sources so we can pass on the best solutions to you. We're offering our experience with:

  • creating and implementing rich web and intranet applications
  • implementing social e-comm
  • creating idea and resource exchanges across the organization
  • creating rich learning environments to help amplify talent development
  • implementing an innovation platform around networks of people both inside and outside the organization -- social networks / communities

We specialize in using OSS, so we can guide you through the selection, development, and implementation of certain applications to help lower your cost$ and time to market.
